Posterized Portraits:
Your picture will be taken in class by
the teacher. It will be posterized using Photoshop to manipulate the
shades within your face. You will be given a printed copy of your
picture. Your Picture will already have a grid on top of it.
Step 1: Prepare your Grid on a white poster. You should have 7 squares by 7 squares on your grid measuring 4cm x 5cm.
Step 2: Trace over the lines seperating the different values (shades) in your printed picture.
Step 3: Using a view finder draw the lines you see in each individual square of your picture.
Step
4: When your drawing is complete fill in the values(shades) with
different patterns. At the beginning of the term you drew 20
textures/patterns in your sketchbook. You will choose 5-6 different
ones ranging from dark/complex to Light/simple. Fill the Dark shades of
your face with your darkest more complex textures. The rest of the
shades should be filled with gradually lighter and more simpler
textures.
