Art is everywhere. In the cloths you wear, the house you reside in, the car you drive, your electronic devices, and even your shoes. Artistic skills and decisions came into play in the making of any website you visit, any youtube video you watch, and any magazine you read. Art is integral to almost all visual and aesthetic human creation, and living in this modern age of images, we experience art daily.

Art is also a language, and like any other system of communication, one can learn to use and understand the language of Art. As students in the art program and as adolescents in this virtual world, developing your visual perception and artistic skills will enable you to visualize your own ideas and opinions and to understand those of others.

Below are the Visual Arts Competencies, which will be used to guide your learning and evaluate your performance and progress. Please read these carefully and feel free to ask for more information.

Competency 1

Competency 2

Competency 3
