Warm up sheets: Everyday you are expected to warm up your hand by filling out at least one page of warm ups. There are 14 pages to be complete. Term 1 only has 10 art classes; that means you need to complete 1 or 2 sheets a day. The sheets are due at the end of the term.

1. Albrecht Durer Practice sheet - copy the hatching lines in each square.

2. Fruit/Flowers- Hatch or Cross-Hatch the shading.

3. Durer inspired drawing - Sketch ideas:
     include:
                  1. Character (People, angel, cherub, witch)
                  2. Landscape (Tree, Mountains, Castle)
                  3. Creature (Beasts, unicorns, lions, dragons)

4. Rough Copy of Durer Inspired Drawing.

3 Compositions- Using Objects in class (chair, crutch,phone) Draw an arrangement of these items into 3 different compositions from your notes.

Draw a picture of an animal.  Make sure to include details such as fur/feathers, and background (trees, grass, dirt,etc)

2. Facial Features - Using the Facial features Booklet, practice drawing and shading an eye, nose, mouth and ear. *BOTH WITH PENCIL AND CONTE

3. Facial Proportions - A front view of a face with the lines indicating feature placement and proportions.

4. Portrait of your Friend: 1. Front View
                                        2. Side View (looking up or down)

Notes on Compositions

Visual Bibliography- Using your notes on composition record information about 10 different paintings. Include: Date, Artist's name, Place, Title, Composition with explanation. as well as a thumbnail drawing of each painting.

Brainstorm- ideas for a self-expressive portrait. Express who you are through images rather than your face.
